"Why and How" to order a Custom Rod?

Some considerations when ordering a custom rod!
Why choose a custom built fishing rod? A custom rod can
offer the angler many alternatives not found in a factory built rod. Whether a fishing rod is factory built or custom built
it must satisfy the following requirements:
-
Functional physical design (i.e. blank length, action, weight
and power; guide size and spacing; handle shape and size;
reel seat material and style; etc.) that satisfies:
- Where you are going to fish with the rod.
- The method of fishing you will be doing.
- Type and size of fish.
-
Quality Rod Construction (i.e. Holds up under the
intended field use)
- Components of quality.
- Built using high quality rod building techniques.
-
Physical cosmetics and appearance (i.e. colors, trims,
thread art, etc.)
- That makes the rod attractive.
- That makes the angler proud of ownership.
The functional physical designs offered by factory
built rods have some limitations in variety due to
maintaining cost
efficiency related to product line size. While factory
built rods do cover many fishing conditions, a custom
made fishing rod can meet a much wider scope of casting and
fishing conditions and other customer requirements.
Also, closer attention to quality rod building
techniques are more apparent with handmade custom
fishing rods. The physical cosmetics and
appearance offered by a factory rod is again driven by
cost which puts limits to the amount of design and
manufacturing in this area. A custom made fishing rod
can be designed and built to be unique in appearance,
personalized to the angler's desires and attractive to
the envious fishing buddy.
These benefits can be realized with customization in the
following areas:
- Blank manufacture and specification best suited to the anglers
casting and fishing situation. If needed, blank modification
can also be done to match conditions. Also, some situations
can be matched with a specially manufactured blank.
Following is a list of some blanks on which we build. Feel free to inquire about others.

- Reel Seat style, size and material can be tailored to the fishing situation.
- Fighting Butts can be customized to the angler's
preference for maximum performance when
fighting that trophy fish.
- Guide wrap thread colors, trims, inlays, etc. in various
combination will add beauty and attractiveness.

possibilities can enhance the uniqueness and personalized aspects
of a custom made rod.
